Final Project Consultation 1

Week 11 is consultation week for our final project so we do not have any lectures.

TUTORIAL

Final Project: Self-Tilted

Self-titled is an exploration project for the students to express their own individuality and reflect their personality in digital art self-expression. We are to create a composition to express ourselves (must include our own photo) and animate some elements in the composition, and finally render out into a video.

1. Idea Development

- Write a biography about yourself

- Write a statement about your work

2. Design Direction

- Create a sketch for your work

- Create a digital poster for your work

3. Execution and Post Production

- Import your Final Poster to After Effects

- Develop composition techniques using Digital Photography & Graphic Design

4. Animation & Finishing

- Animate your composition in After Effects

- Attach your video progress

Video requirements:

- Duration: 15 seconds

- Output: .MOV or .MP4 less than 20MB

- Size: 1080 px x 1920 px (I.G reel/ story size)

1. IDEA DEVELOPMENT

Biography about Myself
My name is Lim Rui Ying, 19 years old. I come from Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

I am an introvert. I like to stay in my own world instead of socializing. I am also a perfectionist, at the same time an idealist. Thus, I usually procrastinate or take a long time to complete a thing, and I am always a 3-minute passion person. Sometimes I would immerse myself in a world of little.

I enjoy reading, listening to music, hiking, cycling and drawing. I would like to experience camping and travelling alone. My biggest dreams are to travel around the world and find my purpose in life. I can’t wait to explore such a wonderful world.

I want to live a worthy life, keep moving on, do things I enjoyed, and achieve my dreams.

Statement of My Work

I have two ideas to express myself and reflect my personality. One is about my dream which is globetrotting and finding happiness in my life. Another idea is more of a daily reminder for myself to be brave in pursuing my dream.

For the first idea, I plan to include those places I am more likely to travel to in the composition. Posters #4 and #5 have good compositions and included some travel elements such as mountains, buildings, oceans, etc, which I can refer to for my composition.

The second idea is about who I want to be. For the rest of my life, I hope to be brave and bold as much as I can. I would break the limits and boundaries to pursue my dreams of globetrotting and discovering my life purpose to achieve my goals. As part of this concept, I intend to create a simple composition by referring to posters #1 and #2.

I wish I could express the ideas that reflect myself in the composition and animation.
